Oxford Farm Kennels offers “The New Dog Academy” Board & Train programs. The 2-week program focuses on foundational commands (Sit, Down, Here/Come, Place, Stay, Heel), mastering the leash, and addressing issues like jumping, barking, and door manners, incorporating real-life experiences and field trips.

The 3-week program builds upon the 2-week foundation by advancing commands with distance, duration, and distraction, and includes foundations of off-leash recall and obedience, confidence building, and minimizing fear responses and triggers for dogs with fear, reactivity, or anxiety. Customizable intensive programs are available for behavior modification, trick training, service dog task training, force fetch, junior hunt title, shed hunt scent training, and therapy dog foundation. All programs include an Ecollar, a customized slip leash, a place cot, a go-home lesson, two follow-up lessons, and lifetime virtual assistance.

About the Trainer

Oxford Farm Kennels is a dog training business led by Head Trainer Lottie Williams, who has nearly two decades of experience in canine care and training. They offer comprehensive Board & Train programs designed to teach foundational obedience, advanced commands, and address specific behavioral issues like jumping, barking, fear, reactivity, and anxiety.

Their programs include essential equipment such as an Ecollar, a customized slip leash, and a place cot, along with a go-home lesson and two follow-up lessons to ensure a smooth transition back to the owner’s home. They also provide lifetime virtual assistance for continued support. Beyond training, Oxford Farm Kennels offers vacation boarding services, providing a safe “home away from home” for dogs, and are also dog breeders specializing in Chesapeake Bay Retrievers and Golden Retrievers, with a detailed puppy application and selection process.

How to Get Started!

For Board & Train clients, Oxford Farm Kennels is accepting clients from June 2025 – August 2025. For vacation boarding, clients can book by downloading the Gingr app, entering location code 908946, signing up, creating a portal, requesting desired board dates, uploading vaccination records, and signing agreements. For puppies, an application must be filled out to be placed on a waiting list. If accepted and pregnancy is confirmed, a $500 deposit is collected after birth. Puppy matches are made around 7.5 weeks, with the kennel selecting the puppies based on priority (service dog, conformation home, pet home).
