Our Take

The Dog Wizard Lake Travis (Austin) is a franchise location of the national balanced dog training company, covering Austin, Bee Cave, Lakeway, Dripping Springs, Marble Falls, and the surrounding Hill Country west of Austin. The location offers puppy obedience training, private lessons, board and train, and boarding, with lifetime support after graduation.

Every relationship starts with a free, in-person consultation before a family commits to anything, and training wraps up with a final lesson where the trainer brings along their own well-mannered dog to demonstrate how the new skills hold up around another animal in a real setting. The team also has particular experience with shelter and rescue dogs, with socialization, and with rural or ranch dogs adjusting to travel and life in town, a common need across a service area that stretches from suburban Austin into more rural stretches near Marble Falls and Horseshoe Bay.

Owners stay involved well past graduation, checking in directly with clients to see how dogs are holding onto their training months later. That hands-on follow-through, paired with the consultation and final lesson format, has built a loyal following across the Lake Travis area. Behavior work covers resource guarding, aggression, separation anxiety, and housebreaking, on top of the everyday obedience training that makes up most of the caseload.

Accomplishments

The team is experienced with shelter dogs and with rural or ranch dogs adjusting to town life, and every program begins with a free in-person consultation and ends with a hands-on final lesson.
